Spiral Concrete Stairs
Two helical concrete stairs in the heart of Kensington High Street. Both staircases featured an internal radius of 600mm, with the first staircase towering 4.8 metres in height. The second flight measured 3.7 metres in height, giving a combined height of 8.5 metres. Both staircases were self-supporting, coping with immense torsional forces. The balustades were cast-in-situ concrete also which was tricky given the aggressive internal helix.
